WASTE COLLECTION & RECYCLING FOR DURAND, IL

EFFECTIVE OCTOBER 1, 2024 – 5 YEAR CONTRACT (with an annual increase each year on the November bill) Billed on the residents’ monthly utility bill in the amount of $17.87.

Waste Management provides weekly trash collection and recycle services for the Village of Durand on Friday, unless otherwise noted due to holidays.

Curbside garbage service

• Pickup once per week (Friday unless on Holiday schedule)
• Garbage must be placed curbside the night before collection day, or prior to 6 a.m. on the scheduled day of collection.
• Residents are allowed 1-64 Gallon Garbage Tote (provided by Waste Management) each week.
• Refuse in excess of the cart (lid must close) may be collected in bags/containers with handles not exceeding 32 gallons and less than 50#. Additional bags/containers require a sticker to be serviced. Stickers are available at Solutions Bank, Pacemaker/Countryside Fresh Markets or at Village Hall for $2.00 each, during business hours. • STICKERS ARE FOR GARBAGE ONLY. NO BULK ITEMS WILL BE PICKED UP BY USING A STICKER. See Bulk Pick-up below.
• Items NOT accepted for pickup include:  hazardous waste, tires, car parts, oil, paint, chemicals and yard waste.

Curbside recycling service

• Pickup once per week (Friday unless on Holiday schedule)
• Recyclables must be placed curbside the night before, or prior to 6 a.m. Friday morning in the 64 Gallon Recycle Tote (provided by Waste Management)
• Items accepted for pickup include: Bi-metal and aluminum cans, clear, green brown container glass, plastics #1- #5, corrugated cardboard, newsprint and magazines.

Bulk Pick-up

• Bulk items are $40.00 each.
• Contact Waste Management1-800-964-8988, by website or mobile app. Must be prescheduled and prepaid by the resident.
• Not accepted items:  Hazardous waste, tires, car parts, oil, paint, chemicals and yard waste.

White Goods Pick-up

• White Goods are $50.00 each

Annual Spring Bulk Collection

• A.K.A. Dash for Trash is held on the 1st Saturday in May and is included in the cost of the residents Village utility bill. NO LIMIT

ROUTES WILL BE PUSHED BACK BY ONE DAY FOLLOWING A HOLIDAY

A holiday during the week, such as Memorial Day Monday, means that Durand customers who are normally serviced on Friday, will be serviced on Saturday.
