The connection path off of Otter Creek Drive to the entrance of Nick Saelens Park onto Center Street, has been deemed “Otter Creek Trail”. The path was made possible by Holgeir Oksnevad, the owner of Medina Manor Nursing Home. The path has only a grass surface. Please be respectful and abide by the 10mph speed limit while utilizing the path. 

UTV FAQ

What type of machine is eligible for a Village of Durand UTV Permit?

Any Off-Highway Vehicle or Utility Terrain Vehicles. such as a Side x Side, or Golf Carts that is outfitted with all of the equipment required in the Self Certification Equipment Checklist (found on the Village UTV webpage). Four wheelers, scooters, mini bikes or anything not clearly defined in the Village UTV ordinance are allowed.

Where can I ride once permitted?

Permitted machines are allowed to drive on all Village roadways EXCEPT: the IDOT bridge between Saelens Park and Durand School, Center Street South of the bridge to Cameron Drive (it is not legal to drive to Dollar General). Highway 70/S. Center Street may be crossed from Ruby Street to the BP gas station. There is NO DRIVING OR PARKING on the Square. 

How much does the Permit cost?

A first-time permit fee is $75.00. Annual Renewal is $50.00

When does the Permit expire?

A Permit is valid from May 1 – April 30. Renewal fees, renewal form, any updated information and the current insurance card are due to the Village Hall on or before April 30 every year. Permits are not prorated and there are no refunds.
