The Durand Police Department received information from a Parole Agent with the Illinois Department of Corrections regarding a subject wanted on multiple warrants staying at a residence in the Village of Durand. Prior to making entry into the residence, 509 West Main Street, an adult and juvenile female left the residence unharmed. At about 1030 hours members of the United States Marshall’s Task Force made entry into the residence and the subject was located and was taken into custody without incident.

The subject was identified as 43-year-old Joseph David Papini who was wanted on the following warrants:

Durand Police Department – Aggravated Fleeing to Elude – Bond $50,000 (10% applies)

Loves Park Police – Failure to Register as a Sex Offender – Bond $100,000 (10% applies)

Rockford Police Department – Aggravated Assault w/Weapon/Domestic Battery/Criminal Damage to Property – Bond $200,000 (10% applies)

Department of Corrections Parole Violation – No Bond

The Durand Police Department received assistance from the Winnebago County Sheriff’s Department, the Illinois State Police, the United States Marshall’s Fugitive Task Force.
