NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING

 

 

The Village of Durand will hold a public hearing on January 11, 2021 at 7:30pm during the regularly scheduled Village Board meeting at Durand Village Hall to provide interested parties an opportunity to express their views on the proposed Downstate Small Business Stabilization application funded by Community Development Grant (CDBG) funds.  Persons with disabilities or non-English speaking persons who wish to attend the public hearing and need assistance should contact Sherry Bessert, Village Administration, 308 W. Main Street, Durand, IL 61024 or call (815) 248-2606 no later than January 8, 2021.  Every effort will be made to make reasonable accommodations for these persons.

 

On or about January 13, 2021, the Village of Durand intends to apply to the Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity for a grant from the State CDBG Program.  This program is funded by Title 1 of the federal Housing and Community Development Act of 1974, as amended.  These funds are to be used to provide working capital for the benefit of: Fire Barn, Inc., Hogs and Hydrants, Inc. and E.Z. Egg Inc dba Lakeside Inn Family Restaurant. The total amount of CDBG funds to be requested is $75,000 and will address the urgent needs of these businesses due to the COVID-19 emergency.

 

Information related to this application will be available for review prior to the public hearing as of Wednesday, December 30, 2020 at the Village office at 308 W. Main Street, Durand, IL 61024 between the hours of 9am-4:30pm.  Interested citizens are invited to provide comments regarding this application either at the public hearing or by prior written statement.  Written comments should be submitted to Sherry Bessert, 308 W.
