The current Village trash collection contract with Waste Management will expire September 30, 2023. May 31, 2023 closed bids were opened at Village Hall. Waste Management and Gills Disposal were the two bidders. Waste Management was the lowest bidder at $16.10 per month for trash collection, this rate begins October 1, 2023 for 5 years. Also, part of the new contract is the upgrade to the larger 64 gallon recycle tote and to continue Dash for Trash in May. Per request of our many residents, we inquired about a second bulk collection (Dash for Trash) in the fall but neither company was able to offer this.
Beginning *Monday, September 25, 2023 – September 29, 2023, Waste Management will be replacing your Blue,18 gallon round recycle bin for a 64 gallon auto cart, similar to your trash bin. Please put the blue bin out to the curb starting Monday, September 25 until it is replaced. Bulk item pick-ups may be scheduled by the resident at their cost by calling Waste Management at (800) 964-8988. Stickers for additional bags are still available for $2.00 each at Village Hall during office hours.
