Gold Star Veteran, Shirl P. Best, 24 year old, WWII Air Force Navigator, in the 303rd Bomber Squadron
, returns home to be put to rest in the Durand Cemetery after 80 years.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, November 8th, 2025 in the Durand High School Gym from 10:00 a.m. to Noon. Family burial to follow.
Shirl Best answered the call to duty and paid the ultimate sacrifice. Please come out and help honor him and welcome him home to rest.
