DURAND POLICE MAKE ARREST IN HIT AND RUN
On December 21, 2021, Durand Police Officers responded to the area of Freemont and West South Street after a report of hit and run involving a child. Upon arrival, officers discovered that a 10-year old child had been struck, and the suspect vehicle fled the area. The child was not seriously hurt. During the investigation, officers were able to identify and locate the vehicle and the juvenile driver. The identity of the driver will not be released due to their age (minor).
The investigation was reviewed by the Winnebago County State’s Attorney’s office and the following charges authorized:
- Leaving the Scene of an Accident-Causing Personal Injury
- Unlicensed Driver
- Obstruction of a Peace Officer
