There was apparently “Facebook chatter” this past weekend about a burglary occurring in Otter Creek subdivision on Saturday the 27th. I wanted to inform the residents of Durand that no burglary or anything remotely like that has been reported to or responded to by either the Durand Police Department or the Winnebago County Sheriff’s Department in the recent past and specifically not this past weekend. If anyone has experienced such an incident you are encouraged to report it to the appropriate police jurisdiction. Facebook is a wonderful platform and very useful at times but as a reminder the information is not verified in anyway and may not be completely accurate. Also, as reminder if you are experiencing an emergency, or any situation that requires a Police Response please don’t hesitate to Call 9-1-1 for assistance.
