The Village of Durand was chosen to host a new SHARPS PROGRAM provided by the Winnebago County Health Department for the NW section of Winnebago County as a location for safe and responsible disposal of lancets and syringes.
Personal at-home containers will be available to the public. The RED Sharps disposal unit will sit next to the GREEN Drug disposal unit just inside Village Hall, 308 W. Main Street, Durand, IL 61024, outside of the Durand Police Department.
The RED Sharps disposal unit should arrive at Village Hall sometime early June 2026.
