On Thursday at approximately 2:00 PM the Durand Police Department
was contacted by the Winnebago County Sheriff’s Department of a threat
at the Durand High School. The Winnebago County Sheriff’s Department
was contacted yesterday at approximately 11:00 AM for a threat against
the school to possibly occur today, Friday 5/27/2022. The Sheriff’s
Department was dispatched to the Durand School and arrived at
approximately 11:25 AM and met with the reporting party and school
officials. All known subjects involved in this case have been
identified. The Winnebago County Sheriff’s Department Detective
Division was contacted, and several detectives were sent to the school to
assist in gathering evidence and interviewing all individuals who may be
connected to this case. The school decided yesterday to close school
today and have remote learning for safety reasons. The identified
suspect has been interviewed by the Winnebago County Sheriff’s
Department Detective Division.  This is still on an ongoing
investigation and law enforcement information is unavailable to the
public as of now. In talking with the Winnebago County Sheriff’s
Department Detective Division there is no threat to the community.
