Masking The CDC and Governor Pritzker updated masking guidelines for individuals who are fully vaccinated. Those who are fully vaccinated against COVID-19 can now resume activities without wearing a mask or physically distancing. Everyone must continue to follow masking requirements regarding travel, congregate facilities, and hospital visits including local business and workplace guidance. Those who are not fully vaccinated should continue to wear a face covering and practice social distancing. Mitigations As of May 14, 2021 the state moved to the Bridge Phase. The bridge phase will allow for increase capacities. Metrics for the bridge phase must be met before the state or regions can move into Phase 5. Village Hall is now reopened to residents for utilities payments, office assistance, police department and Durand Charm office during business hours 9:30am-430pm

The Office will be closed early this Friday, June 4 at 3pm

Trash Pick-up will be Saturday instead of Friday, due to Memorial Day this past Monday

Saelens Park bathrooms are now open for the summer. Shelter Houses may be reserved at Village Hall. Walk, run, bike, 2 playgrounds, disc golf, tennis, basketball, baseball/softball, sit awhile by the pond or picnic. The park is monitored for safety by the Durand Police Department and Public Works daily. If you ever feel unsafe or have concerns, please reach out to the Durand PD or Village Hall (815) 248-2606

IDOT Street study to be done on S. Center Street from Cameron to Ruby sometime Spring/Summer 2021 (date not confirmed) to possibly reduce speed limit due to increased automobile, foot and bicycle traffic to Dollar General

Village to sell 3 vehicles. Details and Dates TBD. The plan is (tentatively) to have them displayed on the Spelman/Hopper lot on the Square during the Car Show, June 20 and the 4th of July festivities
